Humbug Telecom Labs, an Israeli based startup company announces it has analyzed its millionth call only two weeks into its beta release. Humbug provides telephony analytics & fraud detection services for enterprises and telephony operators, being the first service of its kind using a “collaborative approach” to prevent telephony fraud.
Since release in mid July, Humbug has added dozens of new businesses as well as several VoIP operators to its customer base – providing them with free analytics and fraud prevention services. The service enables users to understand their telecommunications traffic usage across the organization, as well as analyze inbound traffic, IVR usage, geographic usage, and view traffic information using a variety of other analytical elements.
Boaz Bechar, the company's marketing manager adds “We're happy to see many VoIP providers be very enthusiastic about Humbug - and this is the primary driving factor which has brought us to this milestone so quickly.”
According to the Communications Fraud Control Association 2009 Global Fraud Loss Survey, telephony fraud is estimated at over $80 billion, creating an average loss of between 1-4% of a carriers annual revenues. Humbug aims to solve many of these issues, specifically protection from PBX hacking, toll fraud, and many others.
