BSO, the global telecoms operator powering the digital age, has officially entered the South American market, marking another milestone in the company’s fast-paced international expansion and once again demonstrating its experience in emerging market connectivity.

Michael Ourabah, CEO of BSO, commented: “This is a significant moment for BSO as we strengthen our position in LATAM’s vibrant economy. We have always delivered robust connectivity to Latin America, however these partnerships mark our formal entrance. Our customers will enjoy seamless access to one of the world’s most diverse regions and we are excited to support the growth and digital ambitions of the many globally-focused businesses based in the region.”

Existing BSO customers can now connect to ten of LATAM’s largest data centres immediately. These sites are spread across Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Chile. Local companies can use BSO’s global network for data centre connectivity as well as access to internet exchanges and connectivity to cloud service providers.

BSO is also in the process of connecting to Brazil’s data centre B3, the country’s largest liquidity hub and a major financial centre for international traders, market makers, banks and financial services firms.

In addition to data centre B3, BSO is also establishing its first Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud onramp in Brazil’s Equinix SP4, bolstering its cloud credentials in the southern hemisphere. BSO has partnered with EdgeUno and Seaborn for this expansion. BSO’s connectivity is made possible by Seabras-1, the fastest path from North America to South America.

“This partnership allows companies from 200+ global data centres to connect to and from Latin America on high-availability and low latency routes. It also allows Latin American corporations to connect to the rest of the world through better network performance,” said Mehmet Akcin, CEO of EdgeUno.

“We have worked closely in Brazil with the BSO team for several years and are delighted to be taking our relationship even further,” said Seaborn Chief Operating Officer, Andy Bax. “Together with EdgeUno, we look forward to helping BSO extend their full range of services into Latin America.”

This development is the latest in a series of acquisitions, partnerships and technology innovations that has seen BSO cement its position as a major player in global telecoms.
