Small cell radio solutions specialist ip.access today announces that it has received FCC Part 96 and OnGo™ certification for its Band 48, E61 nanoLTE small cell for LTE in the CBRS 3.5GHz band and is now ready to commence Initial Commercial Deployment with U.S. customers. Recent research, conducted by the FCC and the CBRS Alliance, estimates the value created by the 3.5GHz CBRS band at $15.6 billion.
"We congratulate ip.access on joining the first wave of OnGo-certified Citizens Broadband Radio Service Devices (CBSDs)," said Alan Ewing, Executive Director at the CBRS Alliance. "Commercialization of the CBRS band is imminent and we congratulate all Alliance members on supporting our mission to bring OnGo technology and services to market.”
Welcoming the announcement, ip.access CTO Nick Johnson said, “This is a key milestone in strengthening our position as a pivotal strategic enabler for OnGo. We are now moving forward with commercial deployment of the full OnGo solution, including our on-premise and cloud hosted service gateways and management nodes, building upon our unrivalled commercial and technical expertise in small cell radio solutions.”
ip.access designs, manufactures and deploys complete cellular radio access solutions to serve the most valuable segments of the OnGo market, including private enterprise networks for voice, data and IoT, neutral host and MNO service extension.
Joe Madden, Mobile Experts, Principal Analyst “The OnGo model opens up the business model for wireless communications, by making spectrum available to enterprises, MVNOs, WISPs, and larger mobile operators at multiple levels. Because of the pent-up demand for enterprises that want to build their own wireless networks, as well as the need for capacity by operators, we’re predicting rapid growth—more than 1 million radio access points will be deployed in the first five years.”
ip.access is showcasing the E61 nanoLTE access point at the CBRS Alliance OnGo Commercial Service Launch in Washington DC on Wednesday 18th September.
