Automation software simplifies fibre network design

An interview with Raf Meersman, Comsof at Connected Britain 2019

About 20% of Britons live in rural areas. However, these areas are still dense enough to deploy a full-fibre network. A complete FTTP network remains the only futureproof solution to cope with current and future bandwidth needs. In addition, rolling out a converged (FTTP+5G for example) network is a powerful strategy for companies to cover the needs of every customer, as their demands will change drastically in the coming years. However, planning these networks will become much more complex and that is why automation software is a valuable tool to assist network operators like CityFibre and engineering companies to plan and design these masterplans, and to build a healthy business case.

Raf Meersman, CEO of Comsof joined Total Telecom at Connected Britain 2019 to share his insights into the important topic of connecting rural areas with superfast internet. See below for the full video interview.
