Nextgenaccess, a UK wholesale provider of full fibre broadband infrastructure is taking part for the first time at Connected Britain, Stand 12, Business Design Centre, London, 18 – 19 June.

Nextgenaccess is in rapid expansion mode with its growing full fibre nationwide network focused on meeting the ultrafast broadband requirements of underserved businesses as well as the public sector. Services over its fibre network are being delivered in partnership with various third party channels including carriers, mobile network operators, primary rail contractors, telecom value added resellers and installers.

Nextgenaccess specialises in high speed connectivity and bespoke fibre and is licensed to use Openreach infrastructure to deploy fibre networks under Duct and Pole Access (DPA) / Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA). The company can also make use of Access To Infrastructure (ATI) legislation which gives access to other infrastructure including canal ducts or utility infrastructure. Where existing infrastructure is insufficient, its Code Powers licence allows Nextgenaccess to carry out civils.

“We are scaling up operations and will leverage our PIA powers and specialist trackside rail fibre expertise to build out full fibre infrastructure in strategic areas of the UK, more quickly and cost-effectively than our competitors,” said Mark Weller, Managing Director, Nextgenaccess Ltd.

He added: “The digital connectivity deficit in Britain needs urgently addressing and we are totally committed to helping close the gap, helping to deliver the country’s gigabit future.”

Nextgenaccess is already actively involved in a number of high profile strategic UK full fibre projects. These include a trackside fibre rail deployment along a major rail corridor in the south of England, and the delivery of a new high capacity fibre route between Bristol and Wales. Both projects will enable ultra-fast, low latency network connectivity and services for thousands of underserved businesses by early next year. At the same time, as 5G comes into play mobile operators are looking to use the company’s strategically deployed fibre infrastructure to ease their rapidly growing backhaul data traffic challenges and requirements.

Nextgenaccess is a privately owned company and has secured £22 million of investment from the National Digital Infrastructure Fund (NDIF) to further develop its UK 10Gbps fibre network. It currently has over 100 PoPs across the UK, including Telehouse London and BT Tower, along with over 80 exchange/street cabinets.

Nextgenaccess is a privately owned company with investment from the National Digital Infrastructure Fund (NDIF), a commercial fund established in 2017 by Amber Infrastructure Group which has over £8 billion under management with interests in energy, property and transport.
