Wave2Wave Solution, the global leader in physical layer automation, today announced it has signed up three new channel partners in Europe, making its entire range of connectivity solutions – including its innovative robotic fibre switching technology – more easily accessible to European customers.

The physical layer is the only layer of the network left without software defined capabilities. The new channel partners will focus on providing European enterprises, governments and telecoms operators with both sales and technical support for Wave2Wave’s robotic fibre switch - ROME, helping them extend the benefits of software definition right down to the physical layer.

Joining Wave2Wave’s partner community are: Frame Communications covering the UK and Ireland; dhs ELMEA tools covering Germany and Austria; and DELO Group covering Italy.

“We are now working with three of the most highly skilled telecoms-focused channel partners in Europe,” said Duncan Ellis, Wave2Wave’s director for Europe, Middle East & Africa. “There is strong interest in Europe in our connectivity automation solutions across data centres, fibre networks and lab environments. Frame, DELO and dhs tools are all ideally positioned to benefit from the tremendous growth opportunity this represents.”

“Frame is excited to work with Wave2Wave as its technology offers great new possibilities for our customers to automate existing processes adding speed, flexibility and added security; key in the ever-evolving world of communications,” said Max Penfold, general manager at Wave2Wave’s new UK partner, Frame Communications.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Wave2Wave in Germany,” said Michael Stiedl, managing director, dhs ELMEA tools. “Its robotic fibre switch is the perfect complement to our portfolio of best-of-breed test and measurement solutions and is already proving to be of interest to our test lab customers, which are seeking more responsive and quicker ways to configure and re-configure their test environments.”

Massive investments in fibre and in the automation of critical network functions through software defined networking have led to huge improvements in performance. However, automation has been missing from the physical layer landscape, despite efforts by many to create it over the last 20 years. With its ROME robotic fibre switch, Wave2Wave fills this gap and extends software defined networking and automation to the physical layer fibre network, delivering increased performance, flexibility and reduced operating costs.
