Voneus, the rural community broadband specialist, today announced it has taken over the operations of Swindon-based managed services provider, Lde Smart Alarms. The deal expands Voneus’ capability to deliver enterprise-grade connectivity and managed services to businesses located across the UK. In addition, it bolsters the company’s ability to provide 24/7 support to its growing customer base.
Founded in 1988, Lde provides bespoke managed services to approximately 50 corporate customers located across the UK. It specialises in delivering managed data networks, CCTV and a range of telephony and mobile services to organisations operating multiple sites, often in remote locations.
“The team at Lde has carved out a great reputation for delivering ultra-reliable managed services to organisations with very specialist requirements,” said Graham Wallace, CFO of Voneus. “Much like Voneus, Lde understands the challenges associated with serving rural locations, so we see great synergies between the two companies. By joining forces, we are in a better position to close the digital divide for the UK’s rural businesses.”
This takeover of Lde, which filed for administration in mid-February 2018, forms part of Voneus’ strategy to both expand its superfast broadband network and to offer a wider range of consumer- and business-grade services to communities across the UK. In June 2017, Voneus secured £5.3 million of funding to enable this expansion. Since then, it has acquired wireless internet service providers, Cotswold Wireless and SugarNet.
All of Lde’s employees will join Voneus with immediate effect.
