Aeromobile Communications Ltd (AeroMobile), a subsidiary of Panasonic Avionics Corporation and Telenor announced the signing of an IPX and Mobile Services agreement (LTE, SS7 and Data), which enables superior mobile services. Through Telenor, passengers can connect to AeroMobile’s inflight roaming network and use their mobiles on aircraft just as they would on ground.
The new contract signed in October 2017 provides air travelers of over 20 airlines including; Etihad Airways, Emirates, Lufthansa, Virgin Atlantic and SAS to experience the full benefit of being connected while in the air.
“We’re delighted to have signed this agreement with Telenor,” said Kevin Rogers CEO of AeroMobile. “Since launching our connectivity service back in 2008 over 40 million travelers have connected to our network to talk, text and tweet inflight. We’re looking forward to taking our service to the next level in partnership with Telenor.”
