Cyta announces that its Makarios Teleport in Cyprus has achieved Tier 3 full certification under the World Teleport Association (WTA) Teleport Certification Program.

The World Teleport Association (WTA) focuses on improving the business of satellite communications. At the core of its membership are the world's most innovative operators of teleports, from independents to multinationals, niche service providers to global carriers. WTA is dedicated to advocating for the interests of teleport operators in the global telecommunications market and promoting excellence in teleport business practice, technology and operations.

Since its introduction at 2015, WTA’s Certification program has quickly grown in popularity, with 20 teleports already certified. Cyta’s Makarios Teleport is among those 20 fully certified teleports worldwide.

WTA’s Teleport Certification Program serves both teleport operators and their customers. It provides an objective, transparent, and internationally accepted method for teleport operators to document the quality of their operations and services. At the same time, it provides a means for customers to select the best possible Teleports, service providers and strategic partners.

“We are proud to add the Makarios Teleport in Cyprus to our growing list of certified teleports,” said executive director Robert Bell. “A Full Certification from WTA provides independent validation of the quality of Cyta’s operations for its customers and prospects throughout the region.”

“Cyta’s Makarios Teleport enjoys a privileged geographical location in Cyprus with optimal conditions for satellite communications. It has extensive infrastructure and is well connected with Cyta’s international fiber network providing ample capacity and dedicated links to major international nodes. The Teleport offers extensive international reach and serves as a major telecommunications hub in the Eastern Mediterranean. It offers a wide range of satellite services in the global market including gateway and hosting services, satellite monitoring and control operations, satellite TV, IP links and VSAT services. We are pleased with the full certification of Makarios Teleport by the WTA and anticipate that this will enhance awareness about our capabilities. This certification is the best proof of the state-of-the-art infrastructure and the high level of services offered to our customers” says Christos Limnatitis, Manager of Cyta’s National & International Wholesale Division.
