Ericsson alleged to have paid huge bribes in 1998-2001

Swedish kit maker denies reported claims of deliberate, systemic practice of making corrupt payments to win contracts.

A former Ericsson executive has reportedly handed documents to the U.S. SEC alleging that the vendor paid out a huge number of bribes between 1998 and 2001 in order to secure contracts. Ericsson has distanced itself from the allegations, suggesting any blame lies with rogue sales agents no longer used by the company…
