NETSCOUT Systems, a leading provider of business assurance today announced support for the Health Layer 7 (HL7) standard that’s broadly deployed to provide global health data interoperability between different computer systems. NETSCOUT’s nGeniusONE Service Assurance platform, with patented Adaptive Service Intelligence (ASI), delivers in-depth visibility to more than a thousand well-known applications and now provides proactive monitoring and troubleshooting for HL7 interoperability issues that affect patient admissions, scheduling, and clinical care services.

A patient’s healthcare experience is going to be impacted by the performance of several different application services which all require HL7 to interact effectively. HL7 is the standard protocol used in the health services to transmit health information, including administrative and clinical data, between hospital information systems such as electronic medical records (EMR), radiology and digital imaging and e-prescription services.
