GENBAND, a leading provider of real time communications software solutions, today announced that it is offering a compelling combination of IBM Connections Cloud and GENBAND Kandy Business Solutions to provide an integrated, cloud-based Unified Communications (UC) and collaboration platform for customers and channel partners. GENBAND will demonstrate the cognitive-enablement of its communications applications at IBM World of Watson 2016 in Las Vegas from October 24-27.

GENBAND’s new Realtime Connections Client is integrated with IBM Connections Cloud to enable enterprises to modernize legacy voice infrastructure with advanced cloud communications services for improved collaboration and productivity. The combined solution allows users to utilize their Connections environment for collaboration purposes such as voice, video or chat from desktop and mobile environments.

The newly combined solution, which will be delivered by GENBAND and IBM Solutions Delivery Partners, allows both organizations’ reseller partners to provide a complete cloud solution to the marketplace, delivered by experts in their respective fields. GENBAND is unique in its ability to migrate and transform existing legacy telecom solutions to the cloud, and IBM provides the same capabilities in the social and cognitive space.

“We look forward to providing our customers with a cloud-based solution that enhances their ability to streamline their day-to-day jobs by integrating social, collaboration, telephony, video and cognitive capabilities into their daily workflows,” said Megan Satterlee, President, VanRan Communications. “With market leaders like IBM and GENBAND-provided offerings, we have a carrier-class solution that can be seamlessly implemented and billed globally across any enterprise.”

“With IBM and GENBAND providing core collaboration and UC solutions and Atlas delivering end-to-end security and managed services, we can provide our customers with a great deal of comfort knowing they are receiving superior, comprehensive, secure collaboration communications solutions,” said Indrajit Ghosh, CEO of Atlas Communications Technology.

The solution is ideal for enterprises seeking competitive offerings to combat “one size fits all” enterprise communications solutions licensing models that are cost-prohibitive and don’t allow for flexibility in either deployment or licensing. Designed for ease of deployment, management and operation, the GENBAND and IBM solution enables elastic scaling to match employment dynamics and minimizes capital outlays. Additionally, knowledge and task-based employees have different collaboration requirements – someone working in a manufacturing environment will not require the same communications and collaboration tools as someone in a team office setting. GENBAND and IBM’s integrated solution delivers a superior communications experience, allowing employees to maximize productivity in their work environments while providing the ability to work from anywhere, and connect in real-time from almost any device and collaborate via text, voice or video.

“The beauty of this platform is that we are collectively delivering a comprehensive cloud-based offering that combines our leadership in carrier-grade voice and UC solutions with IBM’s world-class social collaboration capabilities without compromising functionality,” said David Walsh, CEO of GENBAND. “We are providing our customers and partners access to ground-breaking collaboration capabilities that include cognitive intelligence and provides our reseller partners a truly differentiated offering.”

“Our customers have made it clear that they want best-in-class collaboration tools that fit their unique environments, but not at the expense of value,” said Katrina Troughton, General Manager, Social and Smarter Workforce Solutions, IBM. “To prepare for the future of collaboration in the workplace, GENBAND and IBM are innovating how employees unify their communications and engage with each other based on their location and schedule.”
