Sparkle, the International Services arm of Telecom Italia Group, announces the expansion of its Global IP Backbone in Asia with a new IP PoP in AIMS, a premium carrier neutral data and managed services center in Kuala Lumpur with a community of over 200 players.

Through this new point of presence Sparkle increases the capillarity of its global IP backbone Seabone in South East Asia, a region with fast growing demand for advanced IP and Ethernet solutions. The new POP will address the increasing demand of Tier-1 IP Transit service in Malaysia as well as in neighboring countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar.

Kuala Lumpur will further improve the performance of Sparkle’s Global IP Transit Service which offers top quality internet experience to Content and Service providers and their eyeball customers in South East Asia.

In addition, the new MEF certified PoP extends Sparkle’s state-of-the-art global MPLS backbone supporting corporate customers as well as Content and Service providers that need to connect different international data environments through cost-effective, high performing and transparent end-to-end Ethernet solutions.

Sparkle is committed to further expand its presence in Asia where, through its regional hub in Singapore, is able to offer top quality east and west bound connectivity solutions that will provide the lowest possible latency by the end of this year, once the upcoming SMW5 cable will be fully operational.
