Device Authority, a global leader in policy and device-driven security for the Internet of Things (IoT) and Gartner Cool Vendor 2016, has today announced its partnership with MachineShop, the leading provider of API-based enablement and integration services for the connected enterprise.
MachineShop is not a typical platform, it is a collection of hundreds of unique API-based services to enable, integrate and manage connected applications and systems. MachineShop has selected the Device Authority technology to enhance its existing security for MachineShop EDGE, a rich computing platform that runs on embedded and edge devices. Device Authority’s patented dynamic key generation can prevent unauthorized access and revenue losses to services through dynamically authenticated device identity, authorization policy enforcement, and clone/spoofing detection. By leveraging Device Authority’s unique authentication technology, MachineShop can assign, validate and identify the gateway and the associated license. They will also use Device Authority for continued license compliance and expiration purposes.
Michael Campbell, CEO of MachineShop said “We are delighted to partner and OEM the Device Authority technology, it solves the challenge of ensuring our customers are fully authorized to use our services, and it’s an ideal fit for our Edge-Cloud architecture.”
MachineShop will also become a re-seller of Device Authority’s IoT security solutions, offering end-to-end data security to their customers when required.
“It’s great to partner with an IoT platform which has close synergies with Device Authority. Both companies have a focus on Industrial IoT and Health Care verticals”, said Darron Antill, CEO of Device Authority. “We are solving authentication, provisioning and credential management challenges which MachineShop’s customers can benefit from.”
