Anite, a global leader in wireless network testing technology, together with Bittium today announced that they are bringing to market a full drive test solution for the global public safety market where the Nemo Outdoor drive test solution is coupled with Bittium’s Tough Mobile Android-based secure smartphone.

With FirstNet, the US public safety community is shifting from proprietary wireless networks and device technologies to mainstream 4G/LTE. This sets new demands for measurement solutions for public safety authorities and network vendors. Nemo Outdoor together with Bittium Tough Mobile gives the public safety players a single solution for their drive test needs. The solution can be further enhanced with Anite’s state-of-the-art post-processing and analytics solutions.

“Bittium Tough Mobile has been very well received within the public safety industry. FirstNet and other LTE-based public safety entities around the world are now preparing network build out phases, and coverage and excellent quality of service are critical parameters of the overall solution,” says Jani Lyrintzis, Vice President of Bittium’s Wireless Business Segment Development and Sales in the US. “We are very pleased to work with Anite to provide an integrated drive test solution, which enables our customers to measure and optimize network and device performance, even in dynamic conditions.”

“As Public Safety LTE networks move from trial phase to implementation, there is pressure to ensure they are fully optimized to enable the reliable mission critical usage they have been designed for,” says John Taylor, Senior Account Manager at Anite’s Network Testing Business. “Extensive drive tests for this market are essential and, by partnering with Bittium, we are able to provide our public safety customers with a one-stop-shop solution for their wireless network measurement needs.”
