ZTE Corporation, a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced the launch of TrueMeet, a hybrid cloud-based video conferencing solution (VCS).

The ZTE TrueMeet VCS platform uses universal server architecture, which can be deployed on the public or private cloud. This means it can be can be conveniently deployed according to user requirements saving huge hardware investment, and reducing maintenance workloads, which effectively reduces operational expenditure (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX).

The service system of the ZTE TrueMeet conferencing platform uses a multi-tenant and hierarchical management mode to enable a leased service model. It also interconnects with mainstream video conferencing systems through standard protocols to protect the existing investment for users. It can provide video conferencing as a service (VCaaS) based on the VDC to enable an elastic scaling capability, which minimises costs for customers during dynamic operation. It supports convening cross-enterprise or cross-domain video conferences to expand communication and collaboration for end users. It also supports a multiple-protection mechanism to guarantee video conferencing security.

ZTE TrueMeet supports rapid access for multiple types of terminals, such as fixed telephone, mobile phone, application clients, and web real time communication (RTC), and supports multiple communication modes, so that users can focus on communication itself rather than being inconvenienced by complicated conference tool operations. TrueMeet supports the virtual conference room by enabling users to call virtual conference room numbers from the terminal to conveniently join a conference.

At CeBIT 2016, ZTE will demonstrate its TrueMeet-based augmented reality (AR) tele-education application. This secure, low-cost, and full-simulation TrueMeet interactive experiment, which creates a new mode for tele-education, is an optimal choice for replacing expensive experimental equipment.

Lu Ping, VP of ZTE, said “Within tele-education ZTE TrueMeet, with its standardised design and openness, can be integrated into various industry solutions, including but not limited to, tele-medicine, e-government, smart city, smart campus, public security, emergency command, and tele-court. TrueMeet provides application programming interface and software development kits to meet industry application requirements, allowing the construction of an open and virtuous ecosystem.”

Mr. Lu also regards cloud VCS to be an important industry development trend for the next few years. ZTE will explore this market with its partners to achieve mutual success. ZTE TrueMeet assists enterprises in communication and collaboration. With ZTE TrueMeet employees can enjoy highly-efficient face-to-face collaboration with teams globally.
