ADVA Optical Networking announced today that Accessbolaget, Sweden’s newest telecommunications service provider, is leveraging its technology to deliver wholesale Carrier Ethernet services to customers across the country. The newly established Ethernet provider is utilizing the ADVA FSP 150, together with an existing national backbone built on the ADVA FSP 3000, to provide high-speed connectivity to more locations in Sweden than ever before. By leveraging ADVA Optical Networking’s service demarcation equipment to link the deployed fiber infrastructure in Sweden’s major cities, Accessbolaget is able to operate independently and extremely cost-effectively. The ADVA FSP 150’s scalability means that it can easily accommodate Accessbolaget’s rapid forecasted growth.
“In recent years, demand for bandwidth has risen exponentially but we believe that we’re about to see an even bigger increase,” said Jan Werne, CEO, Accessbolaget. “Nationwide companies, especially those with virtual private networks, all need high-capacity connectivity solutions. With ADVA Optical Networking’s technology and our smart use of resources we can deliver bandwidths of up to 10Gbit/s to every corner of Sweden. The ADVA FSP 150 provides the high availability and superb service assurance that our customers require. What’s more, ADVA Optical Networking has been there to support us throughout. From planning and development in our laboratories to the very smooth deployment process, the close relationship between their team and ours has helped us ensure every part of our network operates efficiently.”
By combining existing fiber infrastructure with its own ADVA FSP 150 access network, Accessbolaget is achieving levels of coverage that are unprecedented in Sweden. Now businesses across the entire length and breadth of the large Scandinavian country have access to resilient carrier-class Ethernet. Accessbolaget’s investment in ADVA Optical Networking’s high-speed demarcation solution will also give a significant boost to the Swedish government’s mission to provide 90% of all households and companies with access to Internet connectivity of at least 100Mbit/s by 2020. Accessbolaget’s new infrastructure is also ready for further expansion. The ADVA FSP 150’s modular design enables it to accommodate demand for higher capacity and the network is also ready to support future LTE-Advanced mobile services.
“Accessbolaget is new, dynamic and ambitious. It’s a company that shares our goal of providing fast, reliable connectivity to every customer no matter where they are,” commented Nicklas Boqvist, sales manager, Nordics and Baltics, ADVA Optical Networking. “With a lot of imagination and courage, Accessbolaget has been able to tie together valuable local and regional infrastructure to create a national broadband network. By utilizing our FSP 150 technology as well as leveraging the fiber optic backbone that we already installed, Accessbolaget has put itself in an excellent position. It can now offer even more value to even more customers, giving businesses of all sizes a real cutting edge. The Nordics is an exciting place to be working at the moment and, with innovative companies like Accessbolaget investing in the latest technology, it’s clear that the region has a bright future.”
