Synaptix Technologies announces the launch of a comprehensive managed Venue WiFi service for retailers offering them the opportunity to transform instore public WiFi from being a ‘me-too’ convenience service into a powerful, personalised Omnichannel marketing tool.

Synaptix empowers retailers to take away ownership of their WiFi infrastructure from the network operators, allowing them to have permission-based access to valuable customer data and conduct targeted, personalised marketing. The new managed service is already in operation with a leading UK network provider at a major UK grocery retailer.

“Our new managed venue WiFi service is all about retailers capturing more sales instore by being able to deliver intuitive customer engagement and loyalty initiatives in real-time over their WiFi networks, while also offering an improved all round shopping experience through greater convenience,” said Graham Cove, Business Development Director, Synaptix.

“Increasingly retailers are offering WiFi to visitors for accessing personal web services and doing social media but this does not address their WiFi infrastructure’s potential for generating sales as part of a cohesive Omnichannel strategy,” added Graham Cove, previously UK Managing Director of The Cloud (SKY) and Director of WiFi at EE.

With this initiative Synaptix is making a host of best of breed software applications available to run over carrier-grade WiFi networks. These include anonymised data analytics to help retailer marketing departments better understand what customers do instore and make more informed decisions on layout and staffing levels; real-time customer engagement software for enabling personalised dialogue with visitors (loyalty / advertising / promotions) based on their actual location instore; mobile store map and product finder apps; and software for ensuring secure Apple Pay and ZAPP payments over handheld WiFi connected mobile devices.

As part of its managed Venue WiFi service Synaptix offers advice to retailers on choosing network operators and provides site surveys, installation of carrier-grade equipment, maintenance and 24/7 technical support.
