MTN Irancell launches 3G/4G services in Tehran subway

MTN Irancell launches 3G and 4G/LTE networks, as the highest Internet network in terms of speed, for the subway system in Tehran city.

According to MTN Irancell PR, 3G/4G network has so far been launched in Molavi, Hassan-Abad, Golbarg and Sabalan subway stations, and the network is expected to be expanded to other stations rapidly in near future.

The network has previously been launched in a number of subway stations in Shiraz and Mashhad cities.

For the time being, over 418 cities and villages of all 31 provinces as well as over 56 roads across the country enjoy MTN Irancell 3G services, and more than 90 cities and villages have access to 4G/LTE services, reports say. In order to connect to MTN Irancell 4G network, subscribers will need to either swap their SIM Cards with new 4G SIM Cards (USIM) or purchase new SIM Cards and place it in handsets which support MTN Irancell 4G services. Upon applying the required configurations, subscribers will be able to enjoy MTN Irancell 4G services. All subscribers of MTN Irancell postpaid, prepaid and data SIM Cards are able to use all MTN Irancell packages, without any limitation in the speed or technology, according to the area under cover, type of their SIM Cards and their handset settings.
