Spectralink, a global leader in wireless solutions for the workplace, announced today PIVOT:S, the latest product in the WorkSmart family of solutions that advances innovation in enterprise mobile communication.

PIVOT:S is the new addition to the Spectralink PIVOT (87-Series) voice over Wi-Fi family of devices. Featuring a new, slim design, the streamlined PIVOT:S now gives customers the choice of two ergonomically designed form factors and three devices in the PIVOT family. Leveraging all the functionality and features of the original PIVOT solution, the PIVOT:S is also built on the industry-standard Android operating system, and is certified for Google Mobile Services. It is instantly familiar with intuitive smartphone-like usability and access to a vast ecosystem of enterprise workflow applications.

With analyst firm Ovum expecting mobility to top the CIO agenda over the coming months, many organisations are looking for greater control and management of mobile devices in the workplace. Purpose-built to address these challenges, the PIVOT:S offers organisations the secure and durable mobile handsets they require, along with the flexibility and smartphone-like functionality that their employees demand in the workplace.

Richard Absalom, Senior Analyst for Enterprise Mobility and Productivity Software at Ovum, said, "End-users in all verticals are demanding access to an ever-greater range of mobile devices and applications in order to do their jobs. Enterprise IT departments often struggle to keep up with these requirements and behaviors. In a climate where a significant percentage of employees use their own devices (BYOD) whether their employer likes it or not -- it is important to take a proactive approach, identifying the processes that can be improved through mobility and equipping users with the tools and applications needed to perform them."

"Spectralink is dedicated to solving the challenges associated with effective workplace communication faced by organisations every day," said Dan Mondor, CEO, Spectralink Corporation. "Following the successful launch of PIVOT last year, we have continued to invest in developing the next generation of purpose-built mobile devices. PIVOT:S is a sleek, highly-capable mobile device that provides our partners and customers greater choice in empowering today's mobile workers to be more efficient and more productive."

Designed to bridge the gap between consumer smartphones and purpose-built mobile solutions, the PIVOT 87-Series gives users the agility to quickly respond -- or pivot -- at a moment's notice. PIVOT:S further expands the Spectralink portfolio of Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWi-Fi) handsetsto deliver a more flexible model of enterprise-grade, on-site voice mobility with a user-friendly interface on an extensible application platform. The entire portfolio of devices are superior in their ease-of-use and ergonomic design, security capabilities, HD voice quality, seamless VoWi-Fi roaming, durability, broad telephony support and wireless local area network (WLAN) interoperability, and predictable return on investment (ROI).

PIVOT:S will also support specialised, workplace-specific applications through Spectralink AIMS partners (Application, Integration and Management Solutions). This enables users to customise their devices to their unique workflow requirements and opens up new opportunities for end-user efficiency solutions.

PIVOT:S will be available for purchase in July 2015 in North America, Europe and Australia.
