Etisalat Group, the leading telecommunications operator in Middle East, Africa and Asia, has partnered with TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC) as its preferred global internet backbone provider. The move will benefit Etisalat Group’s customers across all 19 countries where it operates.

Commenting on the announcement, Wael Ammar, Executive Vice President – Carrier Services, Etisalat Group said: “This partnership reinforces Etisalat position as a leading carrier operator across Middle East, Africa and Asia. It will ensure that our 169 million customers benefit from direct, fast and reliable connectivity in their daily lives. TSIC’s Internet backbone provides data routes and strategic network interconnections, allowing interchange between countries and across continents: making the world better connected. Part of the TeliaSonera group, TSIC provides global internet, Ethernet, international voice and IPX-based mobile data services. TeliaSonera International Carrier is ranked by internet performance authority Dyn as on the second largest Internet backbone in terms of customer routes and one third of the Internet transits its network.
