Blue Planet, the UK's newest Managed Network Operator, today announced a new streamline quote-to-order service that enables swift and accurate quoting, reducing considerably the reliance on budgetary pricing for its customers when they bid.

The system uses a mix of best practice procurement tools, most notably a dedicated supplier portal where RFQs can be monitored and fulfilled in real time, drastically reducing both the need to chase information, and slack in the system. Suppliers can also choose to participate in a ratings system that establishes metrics for speed, quality and coverage. This in turn this makes the process of finding the most appropriate and cost-effective solution that much easier for Blue Planet. The intention is to provide a fully integrated system that will allow customers to log on to their account and view all live quotes and orders.

"We are conscious of the imperative for tier 1 carriers to improve turnaround times and to reduce per-unit costs in their DSL and broadband services. In everything we do we’re looking to pass on a minimum of a 10% improvement to the customer, be it in response times, coverage or overall cost.” said Mark Hendrick, Sales Director of Blue Planet. "Our new streamline quote-to-order service is another example of the kind of innovation that we're developing to shake up the industry. It enables us to deliver accurate quotes, much faster than are currently available in the market today.
