Bell Canada buys Glentel for C$594 million

Canadian telco aims to accelerate mobile business with acquisition of retailer.

Canada's BCE will acquire mobile phone retailer Glentel in a C$594 million cash and stock deal, the two companies announced late last week. BCE, which operates as Bell, said the deal will help it to grow its wireless business and improve customer service in the mobile market.
