Huawei to plough £5m into UK 5G research centre

Chinese vendor works with University of Surrey on next generation of mobile technology; very low latency, IoT integral to U.K.'s vision.

Huawei on Tuesday announced it is contributing £5 million to the development of a 5G test bed at the University of Surrey's 5G Innovation Centre (5GIC) in the U.K. The facility will take a year to build. The project will be completed in three phases; phase one is due to be up and running by April 2015, and will see researchers work on new technologies and contribute to the development of new standards…
