There is light at the end of the very long IPX tunnel

IPX has gone from 'WTF?!' to 'cool tool' but operators still need convincing.

IPX providers have been sitting around twiddling their thumbs, waiting an age for mobile operators to show up. Helpfully, now the LTE market is coming of age, more telcos are rolling out commercial voice over LTE (VoLTE) services and some are forging ahead with plans to extend LTE and eventually VoLTE to roamers. This is good news in theory for players in the IPX space, but in reality the business case for their service provider customers is not particularly compelling. Even so, the IPX market has come a long way in recent years.
