Hong Kong kicks off 2.1-GHz auction

OFCA expects to raise upwards of HK$2.36 billion from December sale of 49.2 MHz of 2.1-GHz spectrum.

Hong Kong has invited bidders to come forward for the auction of mobile spectrum in the 2.1-GHz band that is scheduled to take place in December. The country plans to auction 49.2 MHz of spectrum in the 1.9 GHz-2.2 GHz band that is currently in the hands of the country's mobile operators but is due to expire in two years…
