Orange loans hundreds of millions of euros to prepaid customers

Creating customer loyalty in mobile markets dominated by prepaid users with a tendency to own multiple SIM cards is no easy task, but Orange has a number of tricks up its sleeve to help it on its way in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), including allowing customers to borrow hefty sums of prepaid credit. The France-based operator group on Wednesday announced that its Emergency Credit service, through which it provides small loans of credit to prepaid users in the MEA region, has been used 3 billion times since its launch four years ago…
