Telecoms leader Top Connect (www.topconnect.com) today announces that users of its call-back TravelSim brand (www.travelsim.com) when in the Latin American region can now benefit of vastly reduced voice and data download costs.

The new reduced rates follows a series of business agreements with its GSM partners in the region. These agreements makes the prepaid roaming service the lowest in the region and covers the following 11 countries ... Argentina, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.

Incoming calls and text messages to regional visitors are free to TravelSim users and outgoing calls vary slightly, starting as low as 0.39 Euros per minute. Data costs are a flat 0.59 Euros per minute in all 11 countries and sending an SMS is just 0.19 Euros.

Top Connect’s TravelSim brand is the world’s leading international roaming card service with a user base of over 4.5 million. Over 80,000 new subscribers sign up for the service each month.

Thanks to its agreements with tier one GSM providers around the globe, TravelSim provides a high quality, low cost service that can save customers up to 85% on making calls while abroad. It also offers free incoming calls in 140 countries and free worldwide SMS. The TravelSim product can be used in 190 countries.

“Latin America has seen a 50% growth in tourism over the past decade and with travel operators such as Club Med and Sandals setting up new holiday resorts in the region will undoubtedly see further growth in the years to come,” says Mikhail Markin, Head of Product Development Department at TravelSim.

“Thanks to a round of cost-cutting communications discussions with our GSM partners focussed on better supporting tourism in the region and enabling visitors to keep in touch with families and friends whilst on holiday, we are delighted to pass on the benefits to our users visiting the Latin American region.”
