AppFlood, the largest global mobile RTB network from China, today released its Q2 2014 data report, confirming emerging markets are playing an increasingly large role in the global mobile ecosystem.

The report examines global mobile traffic, Cost-Per-Install rates, mobile ad spend and other key indicators across AppFlood’s global network. The key insights from the AppFlood network include:

* China accounted for 60 per cent of the total global mobile ad spend
* Average global mobile ad budget grew 19.1 per cent, month on month
* Global Mobile traffic grew 56 per cent over the quarter
* Rich media ad revenue jumped 95 per cent, confirming a shift away from banner and interstitial advertising
* 53 per cent of global mobile ad budget is now spent on acquiring users from Asia, Middle East, Africa and Oceania
* Productivity apps are the most popular category for Chinese advertisers

“China’s continued growth in global advertising spend confirms it is a dominant player in the global mobile ecosystem. The growth in other emerging markets is also very encouraging and suggests mobile is quickly becoming the go-to advertising platform to reach these markets,” said Chris Hanage, General Manager of EMEA for AppFlood. “We anticipate this growth in China and emerging markets will continue and create significant opportunities for advertisers and publishers across the globe.”

With more than 140 employees in Beijing, San Francisco and London, and 400 million unique smartphone users across the globe, PapayaMobile’s AppFlood has experienced explosive growth in the last six months with a 384 per cent increase in revenue between September 2013 and February 2014. To date, AppFlood’s mobile ad network to date serves more than 145 million monthly active users, 10,000 developers, with 100,000 daily installs.
