TeliaSonera to acquire Tele2 Norway for €548m

Deal gives Sweden-based operator 40% share of Norwegian market; pledges to accelerate 4G rollout.

TeliaSonera on Monday agreed to acquire Tele2 Norway for 5.1 billion Swedish kronor (€547.7 million). The deal will see TeliaSonera, which offers services in Norway under the NetCom brand, increase its customer base to 2.7 million from 1.6 million, giving it a market share of approximately 40%. Incumbent Telenor will remain the country's largest telco with 3.2 million customers…
