Over 50% of consumers in Asia Pacific revealed that they wake up to their smartphones and devices every morning to browse the Internet to access social media, e-mail, or messaging apps.

In a recent survey conducted by Tech Wishlist in 10 Asia Pacific countries, 35% of those polled also emphasized that they prefer a tablet for both work and play. Its ultra-portability, touch screen feature and even its long-battery life compared to mobile phones also make it a distinct and popular choice.

Android-powered tablets, especially those easily accessible to the mid-market segment because of affordability, boost worldwide sales growth, according to the survey. The Android operating system currently takes up 62% of the market, giving customers a full device experience beyond hardware and cost.

The world's leading information technology research and advisory company, Gartner, also noted that emerging markets like the Philippines recorded the highest market growth in tablets at 145%. Taking advantage of this market opportunity, Globe Telecom, through its broadband brand Tattoo, beefed up its tablet portfolio and offers to give variety to its growing broadband customer base.

“Boasting of its latest prepaid and postpaid offerings, Tattoo continues to lead the mobile broadband industry, giving our digitally-attuned customers the flexibility in choosing the broadband bundle that best fits their needs and internet lifestyle. With the widest variety of tablet models to choose from, Tattoo makes it easier for subscribers to own their very own tablets bundled with a Tattoo Mobile WiFi device that can power up to 10 devices and with speeds of up to 12 Mbps,” says Grace Calara, Director for Tattoo Nomadic Broadband Business.
