Emagine International, a specialist provider of real-time contextual customer marketing software and managed services for communications service providers (CSPs), today announced the appointment of Steven Evans to the company’s new Advisory Board. Mr. Evans is a longtime senior executive in the mobile communications industry. Most recently, he was CEO of Etisalat Nigeria for five years. Etisalat is the world’s fastest growing telco and largest telecommunications service provider in Africa and the Middle East.

According to Peters, Emagine’s Advisory Board will be comprised of industry leaders who will provide additional guidance, insights and resources to the company’s senior management in areas of products and services, channels and partners, sales and commercial strategy.

“The most important role of the Advisory Board will be to ensure that the ‘voice of the customer’ is always front and center inside our organization, guiding our product and service directions, as well as all other facets of our company,” Peters said.

Steven Evans has more than 25 years of top leadership experience in the mobile communications industry having held a number of senior executive roles in the UK, France, Australia and Nigeria. During a 10-year period with Cable & Wireless he held the positions of General Manager, Optus Mobile in Australia; Deputy CEO for Bouygues Telecom in France; and Deputy Managing Director of One 2 One (now T-Mobile) in the UK. Following those appointments, he became CEO of Dolphin Communications, CEO of BT Mobile and then served as CEO of Etisalat Nigeria for five years where he oversaw the growth of that business from launch to over 16 million subscribers.

“As the mobile industry reaches maturity, there is an increasing emphasis on mobile operators managing their customer base in a far more sophisticated and immediate way in order to optimize value,” said Evans.

“Emagine has already demonstrated its capability to add significant value in more than 13 operators world markets and I look forward to helping them expand their business as they enter the next stage of their growth.”
