BLiNQ launches adaptive non-line-of-sight wireless backhaul system for small cells

BLiNQ Networks, Inc., the innovator of non-line-of-sight (NLOS) wireless backhaul for small cells, today announced availability of the X-1200 Adaptive Dual-Band NLOS System which is capable of simultaneously supporting licensed and unlicensed sub-6 GHz bands. The X-1200 allows mobile operators to rapidly deploy networks of small cells, delivering both coverage and capacity where they are most needed. This is the first backhaul solution able to effectively and seamlessly adapt to changes in the network. The solution is available today and the first operator deployments are expected in mid-2014.

The new X-1200 Adaptive Dual-Band System is the most flexible and scalable NLOS solution available today. Boasting dual channel features, it enables simultaneous operation in licensed and unlicensed spectrum delivering high capacity in limited licensed frequency bands and very effective and reliable use of unlicensed spectrum. BLiNQ’s advanced antenna technology enables high NLOS coverage and ease of installation to help reduce OPEX and CAPEX associated with backhaul deployments.

“The X-1200 enables mobile operators to deploy a low-cost and adaptable backhaul solution that provides predictable and reliable user experiences in dynamic and continually changing operating environments,” said Radu Selea, CTO, BLiNQ Networks. “With the X-1200, a system can be configured and installed using integrated software functions, in 20 minutes or less.”

The X-1200 has continuous real-time closed-loop RF environment characterization and can deliver capacity when and where needed by matching traffic type with optimal radio resources. The system supports link rehoming, which minimizes the need for ‘truck rolls’ as the network scales or changes, making it the most adaptable and flexible wireless backhaul solution on the market today.

The X-1200 is compatible with BLiNQ’s NetLiNQ adaptive software suite, enabling mobile operators to design, optimize, and scale small cell backhaul networks in dense and complex environments. NetLiNQ includes Pre-Deployment Assistant, Live Deployment Manager and Dynamic Capacity Optimizer software modules for a complete planning and optimization solution.
