Canada commits to clarifying spectrum transfer rules as auction begins

Canadian government pledges to manage next year's 2,500-MHz auction to ensure at least four players will be able to buy spectrum.

As Canada's 700-MHz auction got underway on Tuesday, the government reiterated its pledge to make changes in the mobile market, including clarifying regulations around the ownership and transfer of spectrum. The government said it wants to encourage "more choice and lower prices" in the mobile market…
