RivieraWaves today announced an agreement to partner with Celeno Communications, a leading provider of high-performance Wi-Fi chips and software. The partnership will enable RivieraWaves and Celeno to jointly develop advanced Wi-Fi technology to address various market segments. In 2012, over 1.5 billion Wi-Fi enabled devices were shipped worldwide. The Wi-Fi market segment is expected to continue to grow rapidly over the next 5 years as new technologies and standards are being adopted over many new applications, such as over the top (OTT) video, service providers’ transition to IP Video, the multi-screen revolution and Carriers’ 3G/LTE networks offload to Wi-Fi to name a few.

“RivieraWaves is proud to announce this partnership with Celeno,” said Ange Aznar, CEO of RivieraWaves. “Our 802.11 Wi-Fi solution may be used within a variety of applications, for both client and access point devices, at various MIMO configurations and for various triple play high throughput hotspot and home networking applications”.

The RivieraWaves Wi-Fi IP portfolio contains a broad range of configurations, supports 802.11n and 802.11ac specifications, starting from 1x1 single stream optimized for wireless sensors and many Internet of Things (IoT) applications requiring low power consumption, to MIMO (Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output) configurations, optimized for complex high throughput applications such as smart phones, tablets, computers, digital TVs and set-top boxes.
