Telstra Global today announced it will launch EPL Express (Ethernet Private Line Express “EPLX”) services at the Singapore Exchange following the building of a Point of Presence (PoP) on premises.

The new PoP will provide financial service organisations with services connected to the Singapore Exchange with access to Telstra’s low latency EPLX service, ensuring fast and reliable connectivity into major financial capitals around the world.

Telstra Global Director for Marketing, Products and Pricing, Mr Nathan Bell said: “The PoP inside the Singapore Exchange will allow financial organisations based in other EPLX linked financial centres to access into the Exchange without the need for additional local access for connectivity.

“This will ensure consistent high capacity connectivity between the Singapore Exchange and key financial centres such as Chicago, New York, Sydney, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Seoul. In addition, our customers globally will be able to access the Singapore Exchange by using EPLX as a mission-critical operational backbone,” Mr Bell said.

Telstra Global plans to build additional PoPs to facilitate EPLX in other global financial capitals in the next 12 months.

In addition to low latency trading for financial organisations, EPLX is also ideally placed for handling global low latency requirements for other services such as gaming and m-commerce.

Backed by site-to-site low latency and stringent service level agreements for business critical traffic, EPLX offers management capabilities to reduce the risks associated with businesses operating globally and in diverse geographies. The service also offers customers single point accountability and responsibility, as well as access to diagnostics capabilities.
