UK clears 800-MHz spectrum

Path clear for operators to roll out LTE services as remaining digital TV signals shifted to other frequencies.

The U.K. is on the brink of clearing the 800-MHz band for LTE services as the last remaining digital TV signals are transferred to different frequencies. Digital UK, the company that has been carrying out the clearance programme since February, announced on Tuesday that the final engineering works taking place in northeast Scotland and the Western Isles are due to be completed on Wednesday…
