HKT, Hong Kong’s premier telecommunications service provider, has launched HKT Enterprise Cloud – a carrier-grade cloud service providing a connected, secure and world-class service to enterprises in Hong Kong.

Powered by HKT’s robust network infrastructure and facilities management expertise, plus HP’s strong professional services and cloud infrastructure, HKT Enterprise Cloud provides a resource pool that enables customers to manage virtual infrastructure, such as CPU, storage, RAM and network, according to their needs. Enterprises can enjoy faster time to market and greater flexibility and scalability, while maintaining stringent service level agreements, as well as low skill-set investment and CAPEX.

In addition, HKT Enterprise Cloud offers cross-border services tailored to customers with a presence in Hong Kong and mainland China.

As a carrier-grade service, HKT Enterprise Cloud offers the following unique features:

• Connected – HKT provides a private data network enabling co-located customers to connect their own servers directly to HKT Enterprise Cloud, resulting in low-latency and stable connectivity. HKT also offers fiber broadband Internet, mobile network specification up to 4G LTE 150Mbps* and Wi-Fi network up to 802.11ac to allow customers to connect to HKT Enterprise Cloud anytime, using any of the options.

• Secure – Located in Hong Kong, HKT cloud infrastructure is supported by state-of-the-art DDoS protection, hardware and software layer security control, two-factor authentication and the ISO 27001 information security management system (ISMS) standard. These ensure all-round data protection.

• World-class – HKT Enterprise Cloud is a collaboration between two world-class companies. HKT, a leading connectivity provider in Hong Kong, holds a proven track record in serving customers with private cloud solutions. HP is the world’s largest provider of information technology infrastructure, software, services and solutions to individuals and organizations of all sizes. Both parties will leverage each other’s expertise in cloud services.

Mr. Tom Chan, HKT’s Managing Director of Commercial Group, said, “In Hong Kong, many CIOs now have a strong demand for cloud manageability, scalability and flexibility. They also need an advanced architecture and a high standard of security to meet stringent company and industry compliance requirements. With HKT Enterprise Cloud, CIOs can easily allocate from a resource pool to meet different user needs in a controlled and secure environment to comply with their data policies.”

“HKT is the only service provider in Hong Kong offering all-round carrier-grade services in the enterprise cloud market – from network connection, facilities management and local support to professional services,” he added.

Ms. Cally Chan, Managing Director of HP Hong Kong, said, “Enterprises are drawn by the promises of cloud computing to increase agility and speed innovation and to lower costs. Working with HKT, HP has built and developed a world-class, secure enterprise cloud computing solution that will enable customers towards a hybrid delivery model, as well as introduce new market opportunities to HKT.”

In addition to HKT Enterprise Cloud, HKT has designed and implemented successful private cloud and data virtualization projects for a spectrum of enterprise customers since 2009. For SME customers, HKT has launched HKT Cloud Office, which includes an array of cloud solutions to improve collaboration, mobility and efficiency. The technology has also been extended to other services, including scan-to-cloud, and Point-of-Sale (POS) with cloud storage. These have enabled SMEs to better manage workflow and resources, as well as minimize initial investment.

*150Mbps is network specification, which does not directly correlate to speeds achievable using the network or device as speed is affected by many factors.
