Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc., the global leader in WiFi3 next generation WiFi technology, today announced the company has partnered with South African-based Likusasa, a leading systems integration company with operations throughout the African Continent and the Middle East. The partnership comes on the heels of a significant pilot project leveraging Edgewater Wireless’s next generation WiFi3 technology to deliver a carrier grade, rapid deployment, scalable Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) solution to Likusasa’s WISP customers. The solution will enable WISPs to rapidly establish local market presence and capture market share.
“We are continuing to focus our efforts on Africa and the Middle East as these regions are experiencing strong growth and demand for WiFi and wireless services is only beginning to emerge,” said Oliver Blackwell, Director of Customer Solutions at Edgewater Wireless. “Our partnership with Likusasa is tremendously positive for Edgewater Wireless. Likusasa has a strong footprint in Africa and the Middle East and they have a proven track record of deploying complex telecom projects in some of the most challenging environments in the world.”
Edgewater Wireless WiFi3 series of Next Generation WiFi Access Points enables 3-channels on a single radio and provides improved WiFi services and QoS to end users by delivering up to 50 times greater performance versus traditional WiFi. WiFi3 achieves unparalleled performance by mitigating issues such as Adjacent Channel Interference (ACI) and offering industry leading capabilities such as integrated Spectral Surveillance Architecture (SSA™) – Edgewater's integrated, real time spectral monitoring feature which dramatically reduces operational expenses (OPEX) for service providers.
“As a channel for technology companies, Likusasa is delighted to be part of Edgewater Wireless’ innovative and flexible approach to building WiFi solutions, and their uncompromising commitment to QoS and WiFi performance enabled through the company’s pioneering WiFi3 technology,” said Paul Carpenter, Divisional Director for Likusasa. “Edgewater Wireless is also fully committed to growing the market and the availability of WiFi and wireless throughout Africa and the Middle East and Likusasa needs an innovative partner who understands the technology and can support us in taking on the challenges and rapid growth we are seeing across our entire region.”
