Friday Review: Print preview

In a change of direction this week, we look at the biggest operators in the Asia-Pacific region, ranked by revenues. Top of the list is Japan's NTT.

A couple of weeks ago we did something in the Total Telecom office that we haven't done for some time: We put together a print magazine. Said magazine was destined for the show floor at this year's CommunicAsia in Singapore and was an Asia-Pacific special edition of Total Telecom+ that focused exclusively on the state of the telecoms market across the region. The pages were packed with the latest news and ongoing trends from the region, on topics such as the prospects for MVNOs in China, India's ARPU crisis, 700-MHz licensing in Australia and a Q&A with Ali Agan, the new CEO of Kcell in Kazakhstan. But in this digital age we felt it would be a shame for our online readers to miss out. We will add the Asia-Pacific special to the Total Telecom+ platform in the fullness of time, but in the meantime, here's the cover story, which looks at the biggest operators in the Asia-Pacific region, ranked by revenues. RISING SUNS The Asia Pacific region is home to 27 of the world’s biggest 100 operators by revenue, according to the latest Total Telecom Global 100 ranking, published late last year.
