US mobile market widens lead on Europe

GSMA calls for EU to change its stance on consolidation, take light-touch approach to regulation.

The GSMA has warned that Europe's mobile market is falling further behind the U.S., and will continue to do so unless major policy reforms are undertaken. A joint study carried out by the industry body and analysis firm Navigant Economics revealed that the average U.S. mobile subscriber consumes five times more voice minutes and nearly twice as much data than their counterparts living in the European Union…
