U.S. president praises outgoing chairman Julius Genachowski, while consumer advocates express mixed views about his intended replacement.

U.S. president Barack Obama has nominated venture capitalist and former CTIA chief Tom Wheeler to take over from Julius Genachowski as chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
