Global built environment professional services firm Arup - the professional services firm behind some of the world’s most famous structural design projects including the Sydney Opera House, Pompidou, and Olympic stadiums in Beijing and London - has extended its agreement with Telstra Global in a partnership that will see Telstra connectivity in more than 20 markets and 50 sites globally.

The move supports Telstra’s expansion in Asia while continuing to support Arup’s business in Africa and Europe.

Arup’s networks are critical to enabling offices around the world to work together seamlessly, so it is essential the technology infrastructure can support a highly complex, global multi-disciplinary practice. Arup uses bandwidth-intense design applications, so ensuring these systems operate securely and efficiently at all times is vital for the firm’s productivity. Telstra provides IP VPN and Global Internet services across 65 sites in the network spanning Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa, ensuring fast reliable and secure delivery of corporate application traffic.

Arup Global CIO, Richard Cross said collaborating with a partner committed to long term development was a key ingredient in the working relationship between the two firms.

“Working with Telstra Global, we are confident that we have the support we need to take on the challenges of developing our business,” Mr Cross said.

“In Telstra, we have a partner that offers technical flexibility and a real understanding of our business objectives.”

Telstra Global’s EMEA CEO Tom Homer said: “Arup and Telstra Global both recognise the value of flexibility and reliability in a successful partnership and Telstra are delighted to be supporting Arup’s business development with the strength of the infrastructure we provide.”
