Alcatel-Lucent launches new venture to drive SDN

Nuage Networks aims to cut provisioning time from days to minutes with Virtualized Services Platform.

Alcatel-Lucent has launched a new venture tasked with addressing the market for software-defined networking (SDN) and speeding the adoption of cloud services. Called Nuage Networks (nuage is French for cloud), the subsidiary, or "internal start-up" as Alcatel-Lucent describes it, late on Tuesday showed off its Virtualized Services Platform (VSP), which it claims will dramatically improve the agility of data centre networks…
