Operator billing revenue to hit $13bn by 2017

Juniper Research says billing relationships with customers are operators' best chance of keeping a foothold in content.

Content paid for via direct operator billing will come to a represent a $13 billion revenue opportunity by 2017, according to Juniper Research, compared to $2.3 billion in 2012. The analyst firm said telcos that capture a slice of this revenue could more than offset the ailing fortunes of their own content portals…
