Indian telcos must pay for 1800-MHz spectrum by 1 Dec

Bharti, Vodafone, Idea, Videocon and Telewings required to hand over at least 33% of total owed for spectrum in next couple of weeks.

Companies that won 1800-MHz band spectrum auctioned by India earlier this month have until 1 December to pay up or risk forfeiting their deposits, the country's Department of Telecommunications (DoT) announced on Thursday.
