All eyes were glued on the U.S. this week and in particular on the most powerful man in the world... of telecoms. Shortly after U.S. president Barack Obama was re-elected to a second term in office, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson took to the stage to talk about another VIP. The U.S. telco's Project Velocity IP (VIP) will see it invest a sizeable US$14 billion over three years in its fixed and mobile IP broadband networks. In particular, it will focus on its LTE network and on the infrastructure underpinning its U-verse IPTV and broadband service. ″Revenues in our key growth areas — wireless data, U-verse and strategic business services — are all growing at a strong double-digit rate.
