KEYMILE's new MileGate 2200 subrack offers a cost-efficient solution for expanding broadband services in sparsely populated areas. In the subrack, up to 144 customers can be connected with VDSL2 and ADSL2plus, as well as in FTTH/FTTB applications via fibre optics.

KEYMILE is a leading technology supplier of access and transmission system communications solutions. MileGate 2200 is a new subrack for its multi-service access platform. The subrack has two height units and four slots, three of which (in addition to the central unit) can be fitted with any ADSL2plus, VDSL2 and optical Ethernet cards. Flexibility, compact design and a high level of reliability are some of the MileGate platform’s key characteristics. Due to its robust design and the wider temperature range it embraces, MileGate 2200 is suitable for outdoor usage. Standing at two height units, it can be installed where space is tight.

In one street cabinet (FTTC, Fiber to the Curb) network operators can use MileGate 2200 to connect up to 144 customers with VDSL2 or ADSL2plus. The VDSL2 interfaces can be operated at data rates of up to 50 Mbps (17a profile). Both VDSL2 and ADSL2plus, as well as optical Ethernet interfaces (for example to connect corporate customers) can be used individually or as a combination. As a result, network operators can provide sophisticated services like VoIP, broadband Internet, Video-on-Demand and IPTV, even in places with few subscribers.

With optical Ethernet cards, the MileGate 2200 subrack is also ideal for FTTB- and FTTH-applications. In FTTB installations, the VDSL2 card with a 30a profile is used that offers symmetrical bandwidth of up to 100 Mbps. In point-to-point operation, up to 72 optical Ethernet interfaces allow FTTH applications at up to 1,000 Mbps per subscriber.

The new subrack is fully integrated in the MileGate system concept. All of the MileGate 2200 functions can be managed centrally by the UNEM management system.
