Telstra Global, a leading global supplier of managed network and hosting services, has been selected by Clifford Thames to manage and host the launch of its pan-European platform for the fleet industry – a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) car service repair authorisation and invoicing facility.

The provider of consultancy and support services to the automotive industry will use Telstra Global’s managed hosting service to support its ATHORIS offering - a revolutionary online quotation, authorisation and invoice management system for the fleet vehicle service sector. The system significantly reduces administration costs between leasing companies and dealers and greatly improves process efficiency.

Clifford Thames chose Telstra Global to provide a fully managed hosting, security, storage and backup service with internet connectivity to support its ATHORIS offering with high performance and availability. The first market to benefit will be France, initially with a rapid deployment to Renault dealers and two major leasing companies. Other manufacturers and leasing companies are planned to join during 2012 and 2013. Additional major European fleet markets will also follow at the same time

The three-year deal will see Telstra Global provide managed hosting at two sites, from its London hosting facility and a secondary site in Woking. The solution is designed to be as reliable, flexible and scalable as possible and includes Managed Utility Servers with managed security, storage and backup. The complete environment is also supported by ‘burstable Internet’, for flexible, on-demand provisioning.

Clifford Thames’ Chief Technology Officer, Mr Scott Christie, said the company chose Telstra Global to support its offering due to its extensive track record and commercial flexibility.
“Telstra Global was already providing our colocation solution for other divisions and we were looking for further help on the journey towards an outsourced infrastructure. Telstra Global presented a highly cost effective solution and a true partnership approach that will guarantee minimal system downtime as we grow the ATHORIS offering further across European markets,” Mr Christie said.

Telstra's Managed Utility hosting service offers Clifford Thames a flexible and scalable hosting solution built on an ‘infrastructure of processors, memory and storage, enabling IT managers to deploy managed services without significant capital expenditure.
