Telstra Global, a leading service provider for managed network and hosting services, today announced the expansion of its global hosting capabilities with a new data centre in Singapore. The facility will provide hosting space for financial, media and technology enterprises needing the latest in secure colocation, managed hosting and network solutions.

The new Singapore facility, located in a high-tech industrial park close to the central business district, complies with Tier 3 standards specified in TIA-942. It was built to meet increasing demand for hosting in Asia, and will provide a ‘connected’ colocation service, with hosting underpinned by a range of network connectivity options and an extensive backbone network, providing access to Telstra Global’s Asian network and the rest of the world.

It is the latest addition to Telstra Global’s APAC facilities footprint, which includes data centres in Hong Kong, The Philippines, Australia, New Zealand and United Kingdom. Telstra Global now operates data centres in six countries with approximately 14,000 square metres of data centre space globally.

The facility will be able to offer Telstra Global customers disaster recovery capabilities, with Telstra Global providing secure, low latency connectivity options between the new Singapore data centre and its existing facilities. The centre will also form the hub for other hosting services and cloud-based solutions.

Richard Duggan, Head of South Asia, Telstra Global said, “The new Singapore facility will help further solidify Telstra Global as a leader in supporting multi-national enterprises expanding across Asia. Increasing our data centre footprint in Singapore positions us well to meet the needs of our customers, with robust business solutions based on our first class hosting and global connectivity.”

Telstra Global currently has over 1,400 Points of Presence (PoPs) in more than 230 countries and territories. Most PoPs are equipped to provide a full suite of bandwidth services, with a growing number able to offer IP Services and enable customers to connect into the major Internet exchanges.
